A Year of Exploration and Evolution

In 2018, our rug collection began to diversify in exciting new directions, reflecting both evolving design trends and our own creative curiosity. We embraced the growing popularity of geometric patterns and introduced a richer range of textural rugs including standout pieces like Bosco and Roman, which brought multi-layered cosiness and depth to interior spaces.

It was also the year we ventured into round rug designs, launching Casablanca a luxurious viscose rug offered in a palette of scrumptious, sophisticated colours. The collection was enthusiastically received by the design community, who appreciated its versatility and tactile elegance.

A key milestone came with our very first styled shoot featuring Vintage Persian Overdyed rugs.

Shot at Malvern House, the mix of modern designs with storied vintage pieces brought a rich dialogue of old and new into a single, beautifully curated space. We also introduced new handknotted rugs from India, further expanding the artisanal quality of our offering.

The Malvern House stairwell, with its architectural charm, became a striking visual anchor framing our rugs in a way that celebrated both heritage and innovation.

Our 2019/2020 collection was a journey of inspiration and discovery experienced from the ground up. Driven by a passion for uniqueness, we curated a selection of handpicked rugs and authentic carpets that reflected a sense of global awareness, cultural richness, and timeless craftsmanship.

THIS season marked the debut of our Modern Tribal range a standout addition to our offering. These hand-loomed rugs, featuring high-low patterns, were inspired by distant lands and the enduring beauty of traditional arts and natural living. The interplay of texture and pattern introduced a fresh, globally inspired aesthetic that quickly resonated with designers and design lovers alike.

Set against the crisp, clean architecture of Glen Iris House, the collection found its perfect stage. The minimal, modern backdrop not only elevated the bold geometry of the Modern Tribal range, but also provided the ideal setting to showcase further our Vintage Persian overdyed rugs, proving how beautifully these storied pieces can live within a contemporary space.

Blairgowrie House

Photographed on location between lockdowns on Melbournes Mornington Peninsula, Blairgowrie House spilt over many levels and nestled against the Peninsula landscape offered the ideal backdrop to complement a collection of rugs designed with Australian laid-back living in mind.

This collection embraced earthy tones and grounded hues, creating an atmosphere that felt both welcoming and calming during a time of uncertainty. It also marked an exciting milestone, the launch of our first hand-loomed silk rug collection, featuring Art Deco–inspired patterns. Intricately carved and softly tactile, these designs were offered in classic neutrals as well as the rich, burnt pumpkin tone of Gold Finch.

As always, we demonstrated how vintage rugs can live harmoniously within modern, contemporary spaces. Notable standouts from this release included Bison, Tamsin, and Kerala, each celebrated for their unique designs and exquisite hand-knotted craftsmanship. We also leant into geometric patterns across many of our designs.

Textural Harmony in a Timber-Clad Retreat

Set high on the rolling hills of Victorias Surf Coast Hinterland, The Wensley, an architecturally striking timber house built from recycled Oregon and Ironbark provided the perfect backdrop for our highly textured core collection 2022.

This secluded haven, nestled on 80 acres in Wensleydale, evokes the quiet calm and rustic elegance that inspired the photo shoot. Drawing from the principles of  Cabin Style, Alpine Lodges and Scottish Highlands  but with an Australian Uniqueness. each design embraces the beauty of imperfection, texture, and craftsmanship. The rugs, with their earthy tones and tactile weaves, were curated to envelop interiors in warmth creating a sense of comfort and cocooned serenity that transcends seasons. With every knot and fibre the collection encourages stillness, grounding, and a connection to nature offering not just floor coverings, but a lived in sense of authentic harmony.

A Confident Play on Restraint and Saturation

Shot on location at Preston House, this campaign marked a new chapter in our evolving design philosophy one where colour emerges as a quiet force within a minimalist world. With a backdrop of natural materials and neutral architecture, bold yet understated pieces brought warmth and personality into focus.

At the heart of this collection lies a modern take on Scandinavian simplicity, reimagined through carefully curated palettes: deep ocean hues, grounded greens, and soft ivory accents. Together, they reflect a growing movement toward optimistic, versatile interiors—spaces that feel both elevated and effortlessly lived in.

The collection introduced the Tait coloured rugs, alongside the hand-loomed Mateo and Carlo, and four new hand-tufted designs, crafted for ease in decorating without compromise on sophistication.

Photographed on location in an eco-conscious home tucked away on a quiet street in Hawthorn, Melbourne, the 70s-inspired interiors with their warm timbers and calming tones of tan, chocolate, and ivory offered the perfect backdrop for our much loved Raw Collection.

Comprising 11 unique rugs—including five flat weaves and six shags each piece handwoven from raw wool yarns, thoughtfully shaped by nature and interpreted by the artisans hand.

Return to Elegance:
Exclusive Weaves

"Art Inspires Life” was the creative call to action behind the launch of our Exclusive Weaves Collection—a range of finely hand-knotted rugs that embody beauty, craftsmanship, and meaningful design from all around India.

Each piece in the collection is a testament to traditional weaving techniques, with every knot tied by hand over the course of several months. The colour palettes unfold in rhythmic, dance-like movement, where one shade flows seamlessly into the next, creating an almost painterly visual experience.

To bring these timeless designs to life, we paired them with curated furniture from Domo Australia, resulting in an inspiring synergy where both textiles and furnishings elevated one another.

This collection was photographed on location at the Domo’s showroom in Melbourne, beautifully captured by Lillie Thompson and styled to perfection by Rebecca Virtartas.

Coastal Luxe

Photographed at Malvern House, a thoughtfully renovated 1950s home, our Coastal Luxe collection found its perfect setting a relaxed yet refined space where craftsmanship met comfort.

This collection, featuring nine expertly woven designs in jute and jute/wool blends, was inspired by the idea of family friendly living where textiles effortlessly adapt to every corner of the home.  At its core, this collection was all about the weave. Humble jute was elevated through intricate Sumac weaving techniques, resulting in pieces that were organic yet undeniably chic.

The result is a timeless aesthetic, captured beautifully within a quintessentially Australian home. With raw hand-spun jute brought to life by the skilled hands of weavers, the collection celebrates palpable craftsmanship and purposeful functionality—natural materials transformed into lasting design.

SEPTEMBER 2023

Sante Fe Style Meets Sustainability

The Hybrid Collection – A Symphony of Colour and Texture.

This was the year our Hybrid Collection came to life a harmonious blend of colour, texture, and innovation. It marked the debut of Finn, a groundbreaking rug made from recycled plastic bottles, featuring a beautifully tactile bouclé texture that redefined sustainable design.

We also introduced Roam a collection crafted from hard-carded New Zealand wool, offered in four rich, earthy shades, bringing warmth and quiet luxury to the home. Completing the collection were three new hand-tufted designs, each a standalone statement piece, bold in both form and artistry.

Photographed at Toorak House, the setting provided a striking contrast: traditional architecture paired with contemporary designer elements, reflecting the spirit of the collection where timeless craftsmanship meets modern sensibility.
